Subtle Signs that your Diet is All Wrong

One way to tell that your diet isn’t right is if you’re gaining weight. The main thing that a lot of people don’t think about is, even though you might not be gaining weight, that doesn’t mean that things are great under the hood. If you want to help yourself here, then take a look below to find out more.

Bad Breath

Bad breath happens because of ketosis. When the body doesn’t have enough energy, it then burns fat instead. This means that ketones build up In the body and this can make your breath smell. You may find that when you breathe out, you can taste nail polish remover. If you are eating a very low-carb diet, then this could be the reason behind your bad breath. You could also have type 1 diabetes because your body is not producing enough insulin. If you want to help yourself here, then you need to try and increase your portion sizes. Alcohol and drugs won’t help either so if you are having a problem with this then try and look into a drug rehab center.

Your Hair is Thinning

Iron is used to make red blood cells. This will store energy and it will also carry oxygen around the blood. If you know that you are very low in iron, then you may find that your hair starts to thin and that you also feel very lethargic. You can boost your iron by having more green vegetables, which include broccoli and spinach.  Women who are in their 20’s, 30’s and 40’s should make sure that they have a diet that is full of iron, as menstruation can impact your iron levels.

Constipation

If you are struggling to go to the toilet, then you may assume that you need more fibre in your diet. This is true, but more commonly, you might be dehydrated. Fibre and water are needed if you want to have a regular bowel movement. The main reason for this is because fibre attracts water and this means that your stools will pass much more easily.

Cracks at the Corner of your Mouth

If you have small cracks at the corner of your mouth, then this would indicate that you have an iron deficiency. It may be that you have a bacterial infection as well, so keep an eye on your health. If you want to help yourself here then you need to try and use lip balm for a couple of days. If you know that the issue is not getting any better, then make sure that you see your GP.

You Have Low Energy

After eating a ton of simple carbs, such as sugar, you might feel sluggish and very low on energy. A lot of this is because the sugar will elevate your insulin levels, but the dip after can make you feel way less energetic.  When this happens, you have to make sure that you don’t eat more sugar to try and compensate for the problem.  If you do then you will end up feeling worse.
