Blueberry-Ginger Bourbon Sour

The famed Buddha Bar is a magnet for the glitterati when they visit Dubai. The swanky hot spot boasts an ever-changing menu of trendy cocktails, and the most famous of these is a version of a Whiskey Smash that became the darling of celebrities like Johnny Depp in the early 2000s. Domaine De Canton is a French ginger liqueur and is widely available in stores.

4 blueberries

1 ounce simple syrup

1 ounce fresh lemon juice

11⁄2 ounces bourbon

1⁄2 ounce Domaine De Canton

3 blueberries, for garnish

2 candied ginger slices, for garnish

In a shaker, muddle blueberries with simple syrup and lemon juice. Add bourbon, Domaine De Canton, ice, and shake. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with alternating blue­berries and ginger on a cocktail stick.
