I love a good riff on a classic. Most drinks are just a take on another recipe. Nothing is truly bespoke. I love tequila (that’s no secret), but it’s always a joy to make a new drink that isn’t a Marg — I do love my Margs though!

I made an Old Fashioned drink with tequila instead of the whiskey. If you know this infamous drink, known for being a favorite of Don Draper, a fantastic Old Fashioned is to die for. This is also a top notch drink you’ll keep dreaming of.

For this drink, I used Partida Blanco, which began in the fields of the late Enrique Partida, a well-respected blue agave farmer. Enrique‘s passion, heritage and pride continue to inspire the team handcrafting Partida Tequila. Partida Tequila is only made from blue agave grown in the Tequila Valley, near a dormant volcano. The rich, red volcanic soil is perfect for the plant. After 7 to 10 years in the fields, it reaches close to 100 lbs. and is hand harvested by the jimadors.
Tequila Old Fashioned
- 3oz Partida Blanco
- 0.5oz agave syrup
- 3 dashes Angostura bitters
- 4 drops orange bitters
Pour all ingredients in the shaker and pour in glass. Garnish with an orange peel.

This drink is strong but super delicious and any tequila drinker will appreciate this twist on a classic.
Drink up! xo
