Pink Gin

Yes, sir (or ma’am) there is a cocktail called Pink Gin. No, it’s not some silly drink I made up.

Gin is a fantastic spirit that has so many great qualities from the botanicals. A favorite of sailors, Navy strength embodies the

The Pink Gin was given to sailors to cure seasickness… but of course! Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

Pink Gin

  • 1 oz. Rock Rose Gin
  • 4 dashes of Angostura Bitters

Build this drink in a chilled glass. Add the 4 dashes of bitters then add the gin. Stir then add 0.5oz of water. Garnish with a lemon twist.

For this cocktail I used Rock Rose Gin (41.5% ABV) is a Scottish family-owned gin created from an infusion of traditional and local botanicals, five of which are hand foraged from local cliffs and forests. The Rock Rose (Rhodiola rosea), which grows on the local seawalls, was long ago consumed by Vikings for stamina and vitality. It is now used by many as an herbal supplement to combat fatigue and anxiety.

Rock Rose Gin Navy Strength (57% ABV) gets its wonderful flavor from a carefully selected and put together creation of local and traditional botanicals.

The spirit was created to showcase the heritage and provenance of Caithness and the Pentland Firth which was a busy passage way for mariners during the two world wars when the base for the Royal Navy’s Home Fleet was in Scapa.

This is one strong drink. Enjoy XO
