It’s time for another amazing rose! This time it’s the fabulous La Chapelle Gordonne Rose Millesime 2018!
Clinging to the schist hillsides around Pierre feu-du-Var, the best parcels of the Château La Gordonne vineyard are carefully selected for this Chapelle Gordonne vintage. Under the press, the first juices selection allows only the tête de Cuvee to be kept. Fermentation occurs partly in French oak casks for three weeks. Once completed, oenologists and cellar masters meet to decide how this vintage will be blended in compliance with strict color and organoleptic standards.
The nose has great finesse. Pink grapefruit and linden blossom notes reveal this wine’s very rich mineral quality in a poetic evocation of the sun rising over the Provence garrigue on a summer day.
On the palate, the wine is ample and balanced around sensations of freshness, delicacy, and sweetness. It is bursting with small fresh fruits such as the arbutus berries on the wooded hillsides of the schist terroir of the Château la Gordonne. The long, pleasant finale expresses the finesse and flavor of a wild strawberry sorbet
