Founded 160 years ago, this estate sits in the heart of the northern Côtes du Rhône. In 1993, Delas Frères was acquired by the Champagne House of Louis Roederer along Champagne Deutz. Today, the wines are crafted by winemaker Jacques Grange and his team of experts as they focus on producing wines that provide intense flavor and excellent value.
After destemming all the grapes, fermentation and maceration begins for approximately 15 days with daily pumping to ensure proper extraction. In order to preserve the fruity aromas, the wines mature in vats for 8 months. The vineyard’s southern exposure on tall granite hillsides the optimal growing conditions for the vines.
The dark plum color gives way to a classic Syrah nose of fruit, violet and licorice. The palate is fully rounded with delicate tannins. This wine pairs well with Provençale style cuisine, stuffed tomatoes and barbecued meats.
