Corpse Reviver No. 2

T’is is the time of year where spooky cocktails are in!

Yes, the Corpse Reviver No. 2 has a cute halloween like name, but in actuality, the drink was designed for someone who drank a lot the night before. Hence the name “corpse reviver.” This drink is made with gin… so I tried a newer brand called Sipsong Spirits.

The gin is from a Sonoma County native Tara Jasper grew up foraging the hills and redwood forests surrounding the Russian River, which, along with a culinary school degree and world travels provided the inspiration behind the creation of her gorgeous wine country crafted Indira Gin ($39.99)  For her small batch gin, which has a very unique spice profile, Tara specifically hand-selects aromatic botanicals known for both their flavor profile and health benefits (think juniper of course, but also cardamom, toasted coriander, cumin, Moroccan sweet orange, hibiscus, lavender, lime peel, anise, pink peppercorn, angelica root). Tara just captured a Double Gold from the San Francisco International Spirits Competition for her Indira Gin – an honor she never expected at this stage.
