I recently went to MOFAD to cover a Mezcal tasting. It was very educational and I learned about – -who knew that booze is educational! I thought I’d share the last tastings for their spring cocktail series with my beloved boozy readers to edmucate them on pisco and rum.
The Wonders of Peruvian Pisco – June 22 nd
For the penultimate Spring Series event, Diego Loret de Mola of Pisco BarSol USA will uncover the fascinating history and production of the oldest distilled spirit in the Americas: pisco.
Sip a pisco cocktail as you learn about Peruvian pisco, historic pisco recipes, and the close relationship between wine and pisco. Afterwards, you’ll be able to sample six varieties of the grappa-like drink and taste some Peruvian bites from Mission Ceviche.
Rums of the World – June 29th
MOFAD will be ending our Spring Spirits series and kicking off the summer with an all-star panel of rum experts and rum tastings!
These knowledgeable cocktail creators, rum importers, and rum historians will share their expertise on the history, production, and culinary implications of this special spirit as well as guide the audience through tastings of various rums.
