Peckish? It’s hard finding a great restaurant in the city when you want a fast food experience — with GOOD food. A hidden gem of NY is the Barilla Restaurant, a fast-casual restaurant dedicated to their quality.
My friend Max and I decided to indulge and split pasta and pizza. We went with their Penne Amatriciana: Bacon, sweet onions, spicy tomato sauce and the Noble: Prosciutto di Parma, mozzarella, blue cheese, arugula, shaved Parmigiano Reggiano. Needless to say, they were both good. The bacon and onions really stood out. The crust of the pizza was delicious and the the prosciutto with blue cheese was amazingly delicious.
They just introduced their ProteinPLUS pasta a new edition to their clean eating menu items, such as whole grain, gluten-free and organic alternatives to traditional pasta, pizza and panini options, in addition to salads and soups. They have three locations (Bryant Park, Radio City and Herald Square), with a fourth location (Financial District) opening in early 2018. I went to the Bryant Park location and highly recommend.
