If you want to start your day right and make sure that you have plenty of energy, you need to think carefully about what you put in your body when you wake up. A healthy breakfast is always important but before you eat anything, you’ll usually have a drink. Hydrating in the morning is essential because after sleeping for 7 or 8 hours without drinking anything, your body will be dehydrated. Your choice of drink makes a big difference to your overall mood and energy levels throughout the day. These are the best drinks to kickstart your morning and boost your energy levels.

Water

Staying hydrated is the most important thing, so at the very least, you should drink a glass of water as soon as you get up. The symptoms of dehydration include headaches, nausea, lack of energy, and an inability to focus. So, if you try to start your day without being properly hydrated, you will find it impossible to stay productive and you will soon crash.
If you really want to start the day right, you should look for alternative water-based drinks that give you added benefits, like cactus water, for example. Cactus water is filled with electrolytes that boost hydration, so you will feel more benefit than you would if you just had a glass of plain water.

Caffeine Drinks

Caffeine is a great way to give yourself a much needed burst of energy in the mornings, especially if you’re not great at getting out of bed early. Although too much caffeine is bad for you, one or two cups in the mornings will do you a lot of good. Coffee is the obvious choice, but there are some great alternatives to coffee that give you the same benefits with lots of great added extras to improve your health. These alternative blends are becoming very popular because they contain things like protein and collagen to improve muscle mass and benefit your skin and hair while also giving you a caffeine kick. Just be careful with the amount of caffeine you consume and don’t drink it too late in the day or it will affect your sleeping patterns.

Vegetable Juice

Vegetable juice might not sound that appetizing but if you find that you’re tired in the mornings and caffeine doesn’t do much to help, you should give it a try. Often, we are tired in the morning because we are dehydrated and a glass of water or a cup of coffee will kick us into gear. However, you might be tired because your body is lacking in essential nutrients that it needs to function properly. Giving yourself a big influx of nutrients first thing in the morning will do wonders, and vegetable juice is the best way to do that. There are plenty of simple juice recipes you can use to get started, but it’s a case of experimenting with different fruits and vegetables to see what works best for you and what tastes good.

If you always find the mornings a bit of a drag, put some more thought into what you drink so you can kickstart your day.
