Smokey Pumpkin Spice Old Fashioned

There are two things I love about Fall – pumpkin spice everything and well, old fashioned. I wanted to combine the two to create an amazing cocktail.

I used Pink House Alchemy’s long-awaited Pumpkin Butternut Spice. This syrup is a warm and nutty nod to the season with the perfectly blended creamy pumpkin and savory butternut squash complimented by maple, brown sugar, and cardamom. I complimented this syrup with this depth, the richness of The Irishman Whiskey.

Inspired by complementary patterns in roots, barks, fruits, herbs, and botanicals, Pink House Alchemy works every day to find new and perfect connections between ingredients. All their products are created with all-natural syrups with no additives, dyes or artificial colorings, so you know what you’re getting when you purchase.

Ingredients:

Method:

  1. Stir bourbon, syrup, and bitters on ice.
  2. Strain onto an ice rock.
  3. Garnish with orange peel and cinnamon stick.

Optional: use a smoke machine to really give this a fall fireside taste. I used the Mixologer’s smoke machine, which is easy to use. you hook up the smoker machine to a tube that leads to a dome. Place your cocktail under the dome and then open up the top section of the smoker and add wood chips (mine were apple smoker chips). Then light the chips on fire and press the button on the side. You will notice that the machine blows smoke into the globe, which fills it up. Then finish it up as much as you like and remove the dome and your cocktail is complete!

Cheers XO
