I was super excited to try Portugrill on March 20th! A new chicken join on Lexington avenue on the upper east side.
They boasted of their Piri Piri Chicken, so I must have it. What is Piri Piri? It’s a small pepper from Africa that is spicy and used in Portuguese grilling and it’s totally delicious.
The chicken is brined overnight and prepared on a grill that was specifically made for the restaurant. Plus their chicken is hormone, antibiotic and blemish free and all sides are non-GMO and locally sourced — I love that!
I went in the shop and met Leon. He was so sweet. He set me up with all the fixings. I requested the chicken legs and thigh (with piri piri). I received not only the chicken, but a delicious salad, rice and beans, bread and ice tea. Each was so delicious. Each bit was better than the last.
I love the fact that they do catering. I’d totally cater my next party with PortuGrill.
