Montecucco is one of the most interesting young DOCG in Italy. It was born
in 1998 and Its area starts where Brunello’s area ends. For decades people from Montecucco have sold grapes to their celebrated neighbors. Today the Montecucco DOCG is well known in Italy for the high quality of its own wines, because Sangiovese grows very well in the clay stonefull soils and manteins aromas and fine tannins thanks to the particular climate of the area.
Istrico is the basic Montecucco. Fruity bouquet, but good acidity and length in mouth. Taste it with tagliatelle or tortelli. You can enjoy it for 8/10 years after bottling.
