July 27th is National Scotch Day!

You know I am on the up and up on all these new-fangled food and liquor holidays – booze holidays are my favorite of the two of course! Well. Surprise today, July 27th is National Scotch Day! I decided to celebrate a little early this Monday by sipping on Old Pulteney 12 YO.

From first taste, you can tell the Old Pulteney 12 Year Old is matured in hand selected American ex­‐bourbon casks. Reminds me of my bourbon days, since I could taste it from the first sip but as I continued my voyage could tell that it is clearly scotch. Over the years, the casks gently absorb the northern sea breeze, giving the whisky its smooth, complex flavours and coastal characteristics. The combination of the exposed maritime environment and traditional distillation methods.

This has a beautiful honey flavoring and well the color speaks for itself. Truly delish. Happy National Scotch Day!
