Minnie’s is Now Open

Minnie’s is now open on the Lower East Side. The new neighborhood restaurant from native New Yorker Millie Stallings features an American menu from chef John Keller. Millie’s thoughtful approach — stemming from a family immersed in the hospitality industry and their love of eating and entertaining together —  is on display throughout the space.

Overseen by chef John Keller, the menu at Minnie’s is inspired by Stallings’ family recipes, utilizing lean proteins and market produce. To start, guests are encouraged to share dishes such as Smoked Cauliflower FrittoFarro Pearls with spring vegetables, Five Greens Salad and Lamb Flatbread. Entrees include Roasted Half Chicken with lemon-sofrito; Pepper-Crusted Salmon and John’s Burger. Dessert is a family affair with Pink Cake, a Stallings birthday staple, and cookies baked by Millie’s younger sister, Cooper.

At the bar, guests can enjoy a variety of house cocktails such as the Backyard with chamomile infused gin, fresh lime juice and tonic, and the Love Potion with tequila, grapefruit bitters, citrus, yuzu and rose water, as well as an array of wines by the glass and local beers.
Located on the corner of Clinton and Stanton streets, Minnie’s is inspired by Millie’s childhood home and her family nickname. Large window boxes filled with wildflowers decorate the facade, while cool hues of blue and grey are featured inside the 42-seat restaurant. A playful, hand-drawn print of female figures and palm fronds appears on cushions, coasters and menus, while the exposed brick walls display bold portraits as well as Millie’s favorite design and travel books. High ceilings and large windows allow for ample natural light to flood the dining room in the early evening hours.
